Domestic Short Hair - Walter - Medium - Adult - Male - Cat
On a cold winter's night, Tenth Life received a call from a St. Louis resident explaining that his dog had chased a cat up a tree three days prior. He realized on a Saturday night that the cat was still in the tree. With no access to a tree service at that hour, our volunteers and several good samaritans assembled to assess the situation and determine how they could help. When they arrived, they found Walter teetering high above them. After realizing that he could not come down on his own, our rag-tag group carefully climbed the tree, scaled a ladder in the tree, wrapped Walter in a blanket, and lifted him to safety. That night, Walter came home with us and, after searching for his family and finding that he was not microchipped, Walter became a Tenth Life cat. Walter is such a smart and playful kitty. He loves his space and is king of the nap. He's okay with dogs and most kitties and would love a laid-back playmate. However, a fearful cat would not be a good match, as he takes far too much pleasure in chasing them. A cheap date, he prefers empty boxes and paper bags to fancy toys. If you really want his attention, pickup a feather toy. He wakes right up and will chase it and then run away with it when you're done. Walter is a huge kitty with a tiny meow. He's not fond of children but he may be okay with a very calm, well-behaved older child who is willing to give him the space he desires. He used to be a lap cat and goes through phases of wanting to be overtly affectionate and being less fond of hanging out with the humans in the house. Sometimes, he likes to follow you around like a puppy and sit on your lap and other times, he's just not having it. Currently on a diet because he was rapidly approaching 20 lbs since his rescue, this boy loves to eat so he cannot be free-fed. He'll need to be fed twice a day with a couple of snacks in the afternoon. He is also slightly arthritic in one hip due to an old, healed femoral head injury. The doctors did not recommend surgery for this injury and believe he will be fine as time progresses; however, his arthritis may progress as he ages. approx DOB February 2011 SHORT VIDEO: https://vine.co/v/bgIdAvtP6MK?fb_action_ids=40712&fb_action_types=vine-app:post&fb_source=aggregation&fb_aggregation_id=7039
