Shadow KS's story
Shadow KS
I sure hope we are going to the park and not the V-E-T. I cant wait to channel my inner Snoopy and stand on the parks pretend dog house. Even when I am snoozling on the couch, I am dreaming bout that park or hiking in the mountains or hill country. Dreaming of sea gulls dancing on the ocean shore, skree haw haw, I can hear them. I can almost feel that sand between my paw toes. Aweeee!
I just love jumping in the car to see what adventure it leads to. My current family used to take me to ALL the places, but they have a medical emergency and cant do all the fun anymore, so they asked if Gods Dogs Rescue can assist in finding me a new family. A new family that can take over and love me just as much so that I dont have to be stuck in my crate all day or constantly living at the boarding facility because that causes me separation sad feelings and they only want me to have happy feelings.
I am a German Shephard Border Collie mix, maybe with some Lab thrown in too. A boy dog about 5 years old and 55 pounds, so you best believe, I am potty trained and totally furmiliar with being in a family house. I now about couch snoozles and crate training, but sometimes I get anxiety when I know my family is going to leave. I know all the basics like SIT, LAY and STAY.
I hope your scritchin hand is not shy, because my favorite place for scritches is my booty! Awe yeah, that is the spot. My attention span is not always as big as it could be, but I do like to be engaged in activities like fetch and tug o war. I would love a yard where I can run full speed ahead. Ooooh, like big as a park but its my own backyard, that would be so cool.
I am good around other dogs if you take me to the Pet Store or park. Park! But I have been an only dog for most of my life, so I do tend to take over the entire house as my own. I am fine with the felines, but I will try to socialize with them, so if your kitty doesnt like canine advances, they might not enjoy me. I do speak fluent cat and know that HISSSSSSSS means, back off Jack, and I back off even though my name is Shadow, not Jack.
My Border Collie genes show up in my smart brains and short bursts of energy and slightly flippy ears and medium fluff coat, while my Shepherd genes show up in my protective bork bork when a stranger arrives according to my perky attentive ears. I do have children in my current living situation, but sometimes toddlers with too much energy overwhelm me, so I want a home with older kids that are gentle like me. Please consider adopting me and taking me LOTS of places, I would love that.
